Don't Ignore the Warning Signs of Stress!

Stressed? Aren't we all.

Between work, family obligations and money worries, it may all feel too overwhelming sometimes.

Of course, there is good stress and bad stress. The first one can motivate you to become more productive. The second kind, the type that makes you lose sleep, can actually be bad for your mental and physical health.

Here's a handy guide to help you assess whether you're stressed, how serious your stress is, and how to deal with it.
Stress warning signs

Of course, different people deal with stress in different ways, but here is a list of mental and physical symptoms to help you understand if you're stressed.

The mental symptoms may involve you being:

* Angry
* Depressed
* Anxious
* Always hungry, or having no appetite
* Crying often
* Have trouble sleeping and feel tired
* Have trouble concentrating

The physical symptoms may involve:

* Chest pains
* Constipation, or diarrhoea
* Cramps, or muscle aches
* Feeling dizzy, or fainting
* Engaging in nervous behavior like biting your nails
* Twitches, or experiencing pins and needles
* Feeling restless
* Having sexual problems, from erectile dysfunction to lowered sex drive
* Feeling breathless
* Can't sleep

Having just a few of these symptoms may indicate that you are stressed, and you should address the issue.
How stress works

When you are in a stressful situation, your body releases the hormones cortisol, adrenaline, and noradrenaline, and these go on to cause the physical symptoms of stress.

You may start sweating, and your blood pressure and heart rate may rise.

This, in turn, may undermine your immune system, making you more susceptible to illness, as well as lead your body to release fat and sugar into your blood stream, which may lead you to gain weight.

As stress raises your blood pressure, if you are stressed in the long term, you can develop high blood pressure, which in turn can increase your risk of having a heart attack or a stroke.

A simple coping strategy involves the word STRESS:

Share your worries, swallow your pride, and admit and talk to someone about your worries (It's good to talk). A problem shared is a problem halved!

Take stock of your life. Are you living the life you really want to live? Remember, this is the only chance you've got! It's not a dress rehearsal! Do what you want to do. It's your life!

Relax. Get a hobby. Haven't you always fancied doing this or that? Well, do it! A hobby can be totally absorbing and therefore rewarding and relaxing!

Exercise. Basically, you should walk at least 30 minutes each day, that's 15 minutes out and 15 minutes back non-stop!

Say no! Do not take on extra work. Tell them you won't do it. Think of you, your health and your family!

Shop at a pet store! You'd be surprised at the amount of medical research which shows that having a cat, dog or pet in the family has reduced stress levels!

If you feel that you are suffering from stress, see you GP, but do not accept long term tranquilliser prescriptions.

Ask for help from a psychologist, stress counsellor, relaxation therapist, qualified hypnotherapist or even alternative therapist. If these do not work, you must go back to your GP for professional guidance.

Lima Syarat B'buat Maksiat - iluvislam

Suatu hari ada seorang lelaki yang menemui Ibrahim bin Adham. Dia berkata:

"Wahai Aba Ishak! Selama ini aku gemar bermaksiat. Tolong berikan aku nasihat."

Setelah mendengar perkataan tersebut Ibrahim berkata:

"Jika kamu mahu menerima lima syarat dan mampu melaksanakannya, maka boleh kamu melakukan maksiat."

Lelaki itu dengan tidak sabar-sabar bertanya.

"Apakah syarat-syarat itu, wahai Aba Ishak?"

Ibrahim bin Adham berkata:

01."Syarat pertama, jika kamu bermaksiat kepada Allah, jangan memakan rezeki-Nya."

Mendengar itu dia mengernyitkan kening seraya berkata:

"Dari mana aku mahu makan? Bukankah semua yang ada di bumi ini rezeki Allah?

"Ya!" tegas Ibrahim bin Adham.

"Kalau kamu sudah memahaminya, masih mampukah memakan rezekinya, sedangkan kamu selalu berkeinginan melanggar larangan-Nya?"

02."Yang kedua," kata Ibrahim, "kalau mahu bermaksiat, jangan tinggal di bumi-Nya!

Syarat ini membuat lelaki itu terkejut setengah mati.

Ibrahim kembali berkata kepadanya:

"Wahai Abdullah, fikirkanlah, apakah kamu layak memakan rezeki-Nya dan tinggal di bumi-Nya, sedangkan kamu melanggar segala larangan-Nya?"

"Ya! Anda benar." kata lelaki itu. Dia kemudian menanyakan syarat yang ketiga. Ibrahim menjawab:

03."Kalau kamu masih mahu bermaksiat, carilah tempat tersembunyi yang tidak dapat terlihat oleh-Nya!"

Lelaki itu kembali terperanjat dan berkata:

"Wahai Ibrahim, ini nasihat macam mana? Mana mungkin Allah tidak melihat kita?"

"Ya, kalau memang yakin demikian, apakah kamu masih berkeinginan melakukan maksiat?" kata Ibrahim.

Lelaki itu mengangguk dan meminta syarat yang keempat.

Ibrahim melanjutkan:

04."Kalau malaikat maut datang hendak mencabut rohmu, katakanlah kepadanya, Ketepikan kematianku dulu. Aku masih mahu bertaubat dan melakukan amal soleh"

Kemudian lelaki itu menggelengkan kepala dan segera tersedar dan berkata:

"Wahai Ibrahim , mana mungkin malaikat maut akan memenuhi permintaanku?"

"Wahai Abdullah, kalau kamu sudah meyakini bahawa kamu tidak boleh menunda dan mengundurkan datangnya kematianmu, lalu bagaimana engkau boleh lari dari kemurkaan Allah?"

"Baiklah, apa syarat yang kelima?"

Ibrahim pun menjawab:

05."Wahai Abdullah kalau malaikat Zabaniyah datang hendak mengiringmu ke api neraka di hari kiamat nanti, jangan engkau ikut bersamanya."

Perkataan tersebut membuat lelaki itu insaf. Dia berkata:

"Wahai Aba Ishak, sudah pasti malaikat itu tidak membiarkan aku menolak kehendaknya." Dia tidak tahan lagi mendengar perkataan Ibrahim. Air matanya bercucuran. "Mulai saat ini aku ingin bertaubat kepada Allah." katanya sambil teresak-esak.


huwaaa..takut sgt bile bace artikel nie...ya Allah,ampunkn la smua dosa hambaMu ini...

opis ari nie sgt x besh..sgt x suke ngan kakak opis yg sorg nie..die sgt x besh..tp sedang cube merasionalkn diri sndiri so x nampak sgt x sukenye..=p as usual,bile dh x der mood musti citer kt org..jdnye td lepas bgtau jer kat zila,trus rase lega sket..=p

ngeh..saje2..dh lame x update blog nie..kak wie+shila pn x dak entry br..mcm boring2..jd la entry no title nie..hehehe..

ari nie byk gak keja,tp mcm x der mood sgt..mood lebih pade nk g ecotrip 20 - 23 june nnt..hehehe..wlpun kt teluk rubiah jer (x smpai 10km kot ngan umah kg..=p) tp mcm besh jgk la sbb g ngan bdk2 satu opis..nnt buleh g fishing+tangkap ketam..lalalala..sronoknye..

tp before that will get involve ngan awards day on 19 june..nnt jd prize presenter lg..huh,boringnye..guest of honour thn nie mcm biase2 jer..jdnye this year x der la segrand last year..

recently dgr lagu bila cinta by fifi (Lagenda Budak Setan)..mcm besh la pulak..emm..bile la bleh dpt tgk movie+bace bukunye..(actually tgh tunggu turn pinjam buku bebe..la nie buku tu kat pah..after this sy lak..=p)

berita yg menyedihkn pd pagi 03 May 2010

pg nie dpt msg sedih dr kak tyra..husband kak kyra meninggal dlm accdnt pg td pkul 6 pg..

sedih yg amat sgt utk kak kyra..sgt2 b'arap die tabah+redha dengan dugaan yg die kena tempuhi nie..

dlu mase frust ngan mr. A, kak kyra la yg kuatkn smangat sy..die ckp,sy bleh lupekn mr. A...ade someone better yg waiting 4 me...die share byk sgt pengalaman die..sharing her life experiences,everything...rase rapat sgt..

bleh rase betapa happynye yg die rase bile die finally kawen ngan arwah husband die...

tp x sangka..jodoh die skejap sgt...x smpai 5 bulan kawen,arwah pegi utk selama2nye...=(

Ya Allah,Engkau tmpatkn lah arwah husband kak kyra di kalangan org2 yg beriman,smoga kak kyra tabah menghadapi dugaan+ujianMu ini...amin..amin ya rabbal alamin...
